I am a father of six and my two youngest sons train three times a week at two of the Mitsuru Dojo’s. They also compete in both Kumite and Kata in the UK and overseas when the opportunities arise and more recently my wife has started training at Mitsuru Karate in Appleby. I work closely with the club, helping where I can to enable the instructors to focus on developing the kids and grown up students alike.

Mark Holding and his experienced coaching team ensure that the welfare of its club members is paramount. My Safeguarding role is to support and act in an advisory capacity to make sure the instructors can achieve this within all the Mitsuru Dojo’s and of course to provide a point of contact for all those involved in the club. Mark has worked hard to create a safe, fun and inclusive environment for all students and parents alike. 

We continually review the Safeguarding policy of the Club in conjunction with the Yanagi Kai Association and the English Karate Federation. Mitsuru Karate has also successfully completed the Safeguarding Code in Martial Arts which demonstrates the quality of its  safeguarding practices.
